Saving Mothers, Giving Life: A Year of Results and Lessons Learned: January 9
On January 9, 2014, the Center for Strategic and International Studies will host a panel discussion on the first year of the Saving Mothers Giving Life initiative, an effort to accelerate progress toward reducing maternal mortality that currently works to bolster maternal health programs in Uganda and Zambia. The discussion will include senior leaders of the initiative’s partner organizations, including USAID Administrator Dr. Rajiv Shah, CDC Director Dr. Thomas Frieden, Professor Elwyn Chomba, Permanent Secretary, Zambia Ministry of Community Development, Mother, and Child Health, and Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, Director General of the Health Ministry of Uganda, and Dr. Naveen Rao, Merck for Mothers Lead.
