Improved Midwifery Care Access Initiative (IMCAI)
Improved Midwifery Care Access Initiative (IMCAI) is a local non-governmental organization that aims at improving the well-being of all childbearing women, unborn children, newborns and their families in rural communities in Malawi by collaborating with Ministry of Health through district hospitals, health centers and relevant stakeholders for advocacy, networking and outreach. IMCAI’s goal is to provide evidence-based, quality midwifery care to rural communities to help to reduce maternal and neonatal death.
Aims and objectives:
• Provide midwifery care to all childbearing women, unborn children, neonates and their families in rural communities
• Improve access to sexual and reproductive health care services in rural communities
• Help to reduce maternal and child mortality and uplift the welfare of childbearing women, newborns and their families
