Upcoming Webinar: Cesarean Section Safety and Quality in Low-Resource Settings
On 27-28 July, 2017, the Fistula Care Plus Project and the Maternal Health Task Force co-convened a technical consultation to explore critical issues related to the safety and quality of cesarean sections provided in low-resource settings. While the volume of cesarean sections in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) has increased steadily in recent years, many of these procedures are being provided in settings that do not meet minimum standards of safety and quality.
On Thursday, 9 November at 9:30AM ET, the Fistula Care Plus Project will be hosting a webinar titled, “Cesarean Section Safety and Quality in Low-Resource Settings: Highlights from a Global Technical Consultation.” The objectives of the webinar are to:
- Understand the key findings of a recent analysis of Demographic Health Survey and Service Provision Assessment data on trends in cesarean section provision in LMICs
- Describe important contributors to and key health impacts of an unsafe health system environment for cesarean section
- Describe the key actions in the consensus agenda produced through the consultation
- Identify opportunities to disseminate the action agenda and support its implementation
