The mission of the Gates Foundation’s Global Health Program (GHP) is to help ensure that lifesaving advances in health are created and shared with those who need them most. To date, we have committed nearly $10 billion in global health grants to organizations worldwide. The focus of our grants is to:

  • Discover new insights to fight serious diseases and other health problems affecting developing countries.
  • Develop effective and affordable vaccines, medicines, and other health tools.
  • Deliver proven health solutions in developing countries.
  • Advocate for more and better resources and policies to support the introduction and uptake of new and existing health technologies.

Responsibilities
The SPO Neonatal Health will be the lead senior program officer heading up neonatal health components of the Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH) strategy. As part of the MNCH strategy team, he/she will be a member of a team accountable for achieving results under this strategy.

The SPO Neonatal Health will be responsible for collaborating with multiple other Global Health teams, including Discovery, Policy and Advocacy, Vaccine Delivery and infectious diseases and HIV to achieve MNCH outcomes as outlined in the MNCH strategy. He/she may also be asked to participate as a member contributing to other Strategy Program Teams. In addition, the SPO Neonatal Health will facilitate collaborations with Global Development teams as appropriate. This position is based in Seattle, Washington.
