Monitoring Maternal, Newborn and Child Health: Understanding Key Progress Indicators
The United Nations Commission on Information and Accountability for Women’s and Children’s Health (the Commission), established in December 2010 by Secretary- General Ban Ki-moon, was charged with developing a framework for global reporting, oversight, and accountability related to the Global Strategy for Women’s and Children’s Health. This report focuses on assessing the current capacity of health information systems in 74 high-burden countries to report on the core health, financing and equity indicators recommended by the Commission.
